About San Clemente
Tucked away, just south of Dana Point and west of the I-5 San Clemente
is a nestled, small Spanish Village by the Sea. At first glance
the Spanish tile roofs and white stucco walls against the blue waters
of the Pacific are reminiscent of the Greek Isles, just as Ole Hanson,
the father of San Clemente envisioned.
As the Los Angeles Times wrote in 1927, "If the charms of
San Clemente could be shown to the poor, sNow-bound, wind-beaten
people back East, there would be an exodus so great the hills above
San Clemente would be covered like mushrooms." Though just
shy of being a century old, San Clemente boasts some of the most
beautiful historical buildings in the west. While in town, make
a point to visit the Casa Romantica, the historic home of Ole Hanson
overlooking the Pacific Ocean; as well as our wonderful historical
San Clemente museum.
