Incorporated in 1956, the city of Cypress is located in northern Orange County, directly west of Anaheim, and just south of Los Angeles County. With a population of almost 50,000, Cypress is a bedroom community and considered to be a suburb of Long Beach to the southwest. It has been successful recently in attracting international industry, including such big name companies as Mitsubishi and Panasonic.

Cypress saw the majority of its homes built in the sixties and seventies, so the style of housing is very much determined by this growth spurt. New housing is still being built however. Cypress is dedicated to keeping the city green and features a very healthy number of trees, which makes for very pleasant family living.

A moderately quiet city, with a small-town, easy-going pace, Cypress definitely has its hidden treasures. Oak Knoll Park is a delightful 22 acres of paths and shady trees, and is home to the Cypress Federal Little League team who have made it to the Little League World Series twice in as many decades!

For a relaxing weekend afternoon, you will enjoy exploring the swap meet held in the Cypress College parking lot. There are a wide variety of vendors and some real gems hidden within the stalls. It’s held every Saturday and Sunday from 8am to 4pm.

With its central location, Cypress is close to Long Beach Airport, California State University in Long Beach, Disneyland and the Angels Stadium. There are many excellent golf courses very close by and located within Cypress city limits is the Los Alamitos Race Course for Quarter horse, Thoroughbred and Arabian horse racing.
Just up the road is Los Angeles, and even closer is the Pacific Ocean and some very beautiful scenic beaches. Cypress is also a great location to be based if you need to travel throughout the region as it is nestled between the I-5, I-605 and I-405 highways.
