Coto de Caza real estate
One of the oldest and most exclusive master planned communities in California, Coto de Caza represents one of the best values in Orange County real estate. The real estate prices in this area are surprisingly reasonable, given its guard-gated status, its lot sizes and overall prestige.
Development of Coto de Caza began in the 70’s, originally intended to be a hunting lodge. In fact, John Wayne was a frequent visitor, keeping his horse at the ranch there and practicing his shooting on a local range. Over the next three decades, development of 4,000 acres of real estate evolved along a carefully-planned path. As a result, this community is exceptionally well thought-out and livable.
Just 18 miles southeast of Irvine, Coto de Caza is nestled in the mesas and foothills of the Santa Ana mountains. Fully half of the real estate in here has been set aside as open space, adding to the region’s tranquility.
Not surprisingly, over 96% of the homes are owner-occupied. Most homes are in the 3-5 bedroom range, but some of the newer units have up to eight bedrooms. Most real estate has already been built up, so it is one of the region’s quieter, more mature neighborhoods.
One of the biggest draws to Coto de Caza real estate is the beautiful, centrally-located Golf and Racquet Club with its hilltop clubhouse. But there’s much more than just golf to attract potential home buyers. Between the state of the art aquatic center, equestrian trails, biking and blading, recreational facilities abound.
If you are considering purchasing Orange County real estate, Coto de Caza should definitely be on your shortlist. Beautiful, safe and convenient, it is truly a paradise for young families.
